The series of EN IEC 62613 Standards was developed to meet the requirements of the IEC / ISO / IEEE 80005-1 Standard (whose purpose is to define the requirements that allow ships to connect to high voltage pier power supplies through a connection compatible from shore to ship) with regard to the plugs, sockets and connectors (hereinafter referred to as "accessories") intended for nautical use to supply electricity to ships docked (or at the dock).
