The EN IEC 62613 series of Standards has been developed to meet the requirements of the IEC/ISO/IEEE 80005-1 Standard (the purpose of which is to define the requirements that allow ships to connect to high-voltage pier power supplies through a compatible shore-to-ship connection) with regard to plugs, sockets and connectors (hereinafter referred to as "accessories") intended for nautical use to supply electricity to ships docked on the shore (or at the pier).
