Gives the internationally accepted Reference Method for Hemoglobin against which all methods should be evaluated. Includes specifications for: the accurate measurement of blood hemoglobin content using the hemoglobincyanide method, the construction of standard curves and calibration graphs or tables, and the special characteristics of HiCN solutions suitable for use as secondary calibration material, including the calculation of HiCN content from spectrophotometric measurements.
