CSA Preface This is the third edition of CSA ISO 19900, Petroleum and natural gas industries — General requirements for offshore structures, which is an adoption without modification of the identically titled ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Standard 19900 (third edition, 2019-06). It supersedes the previous edition, published in 2014 as CAN/CSA-ISO 19900 (adopted ISO 19900:2013). Standards development within the Canadian Offshore Structures sector is harmonized with international standards development. This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group. Scope This document specifies general requirements and recommendations for the design and assessment of bottom-founded (fixed) and buoyant (floating) offshore structures. This document is applicable for all phases of the life of the structure, including: — successive stages of construction (i.e. fabrication, transportation, and installation) — service in-place, both during design life and during any life extensions, and — decommissioning, and removal. This document contains general requirements and recommendations for both the design of new build structures and for the structural integrity management and assessment of existing structures. This document does not apply to subsea and riser systems or pipeline systems.
