CSA Preface This is the second edition of CSA ISO 31000, Risk management — Guidelines, which is an adoption without modification of the identically titled ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Standard ISO 31000 (second edition, 2018-02). It supersedes the previous edition published in 2010 as CSA ISO 31000 (adopted ISO 31000:2009). This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group. Scope This document provides guidelines on managing risk faced by organizations. The application of these guidelines can be customized to any organization and its context. This document provides a common approach to managing any type of risk and is not industry or sector specific. This document can be used throughout the life of the organization and can be applied to any activity, including decision-making at all levels.
