Establishes the laser flash method for the determination of thermal diffusivity of ceramic matrix composites with continuous reinforcements. Conditions for the experiment are such that the material behaves in an homogenous manner for each of its axes of anisotropy and that heat transfer occurs only by thermal conduction. Also the materials applicable are chemically and physically stable during the measurement. The temperature range covered is 100 K and 2800 K.
