Gives general terms that are used in the safety requirements for passenger transportation by rope. Is concerned with terms used in the design, manufacture, erection, maintenance and operation of the installations but is restricted to: - those which form part of the vocabulary specifically for these installations; and - those whether technical, scientific or in daily use, which have a particular meaning in this field or when it is necessary to define in more detail. Applicable to both a particular installation and to their components but does not apply to installations for the transportation of goods, nor to inclined lifts.
