Es enthält Festlegungen zur Auswahl der betrachteten Fläche, auf der die Beleuchtungsklassen nach DIN EN 13201-2 sowie die Berechnungsraster und -verfahren nach DIN EN 13201-3 angewendet werden sollen. Dieses Dokument gibt keine Kriterien an, nach denen zu entscheiden ist, ob eine Verkehrsfläche zu beleuchten ist oder wie eine Beleuchtungsanlage zu verwenden ist. Dieses Dokument enthält keine Anleitung zur Auswahl der Beleuchtungsklassen für Mautstationen, Tunnel, Kanäle oder Schleusen.
