Die A-Festkupplung mit metallischer Dichtfläche nach dieser Norm wird z. B. in Überflurhydranten nach DIN 3222 Teil 1 eingeschraubt und dient zum Anschluss eines A-Druckschlauches nach DIN 14811 Teil 1 an den Löschwassersauganschluss nach DIN 14244 oder anderer genormter Armaturen. Die A-Deckkapsel nach dieser Norm dient zum Abschluss der A-Festkupplung mit metallischer Dichtfläche und soll ein Verschmutzen der Leitung verhindern.
