CONTAINED IN DIN HDBK 405 Technical delivery conditions for high-alloy materials are specified in this Standard. These materials are used in the manufacturing of collets for inlet valves and exhaust valves that are intended for reciprocating internal combustion engines ("valve materials" for short). The materials are supplied in bar, rode, wire or forgings. This Standard does not apply to hard metal alloys used for surface-layer welding of valve collets and valve seat rings.
