Specifies requirements and methods of test for factory-produced fibre insulating materials used in the construction industry ('insulating materials', for short), in the form of (felted) mats, batts and boards for thermal insulation purposes and, if suitable and marked accordingly, also for sound insulation and sound absorption purposes. It also covers faced and backed insulating materials and profiled products (see clause 5), but not insulating materials designed to provide impact sound insulation 1), nor to sound-absorbent boards 2) and wood fibre boards 3).
