A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

Diese Norm gilt für Mindestangaben zur Beschreibung von Maschinen und Einrichtungen zum Vernichten von Informationsträgern, z. B. Aktenvernichtern, auf denen schutzbedürftige Informationen dargestellt sind. Durch diese Mindestangaben wird ein bestimmtes Modell beschrieben und Informationen über dessen Eigenschaften und dessen Vernichtungsergebnis gegeben. Die in dieser Norm festgelegten Mindestangaben erleichtern es, verschiedene Maschinen und Einrichtungen dieser Art miteinander zu vergleichen.
