This standard is included in DIN Handbook 126. This standard is intended primarily to assist designers to achieve effective design of bearing metal linings with or without keying grooves in bearing backings. It applies to thick-walled one-piece and split plain bearings used in general mechanical, electromechanical, gear and engine construction with bearing metal linings of lead and tin casting alloys as specified in DIN 4381 or other suitable bearing metals.
