    Diese Norm wird für Drehschalter der Nachrichtentechnik und elektronische Geräte ähnlicher Technik angewendet. Die maximale Schaltspannung für Schalter nach dieser Norm beträgt 1000 V und der maximale Schaltstrom 5 A. Zweck dieser Norm ist es, Beanspruchungen, Prüfungen und deren Reihenfolgen für Drehschalter einheitlich festzulegen. Die Bauartnormen bestimmen die Auswahl der Beanspruchungen und Prüfungen und legen die Schärfegrade und Prüfwerte fest. Bestehen Unterschiede zwischen dieser Norm und der Bauartnorm, so gilt die Bauartnorm.
