Specifies requirements for the operation and maintenance of septic tank installations complying with DIN 4261 Part 1. In the interest of public health and safety, it is essential for domestic sewage to be properly treated and introduced into septic tanks. To ensure this, such tanks shall be ready for service and in proper working order at all times. Accordingly, only sewage which will not damage the tanks or adversely affect their performance shall be introduced (cf. DIN 1986 Part 3).
