The map of the open-air climates for technical applications shows a division of the earth's surface into regions and zones, the climates of which differ substantially one from the other in all aspects relevant to the open-air climate. The map should be used for general orientation. It takes no account of the peculiarities of regional and local climates, which are frequently of significance for fixed site technical installations; such data are available from meteorological services, institutes and observatories.
