The thrust load test is intended to determine the capacity of glass containers to bear loads imposed in an axial direction. In the test by attributes the thrust load test continues until a predetermined load is achieved; the number of broken test pieces is then determined. In the test by variables the test load is imposed until the test piece breaks, and the mean value of the maximum thrust loads imposed on each of the test pieces is calculated.
