Covers the testing of specimens of selfskinning rigid foams within the meaning of Section 2. The characteristic values determined by means of the test method for certain specimens (that is to say, those fashioned both from test panels according to Section 3.1 and also from suitable mouldings and semi-finished products) can not immediately be transferred to mouldings and semi-finished products of any desire design and method of manufacture from selfskinning rigid foams. In particular, no conversions may be made to other cross-sections which do not allow for the difference in diametral and density distribution over the thickness 1). The characteristic values are also to a considerable degree dependent on the density distribution across the width.
