Describes the method for determining the viscosity in Mooney units of natural and synthetic rubbers, unvulcanized mixtures based on natural and synthetic rubber and reclaimed rubber by means of the shearing viscometer. The Mooney viscosity values obtained only provide, with certain reservations, an indication of the relative molecular weight of the rubbers.
