The method serves for the quantitative determination of the bound styrene in styrene-butadiene copolymer (SBR). From the quantity of styrene a conversion calculation can be made to SBR. It is applicable to SBR raw polymers and elastomers, which contain SBR with and without oil. It is also applicable to blends of SBR with natural rubber (NR), synthetic polyisoprene (IR), polychloroprene (CR), acrylo-nitrile-butadiene copolymer (NBR), polybutadiene (BR), ethylene-propylene terpolymer (EPDM), ethylene-vinyl-acetate copolymer (EVA), chlorosulphonated polyethylene (CSM) and isobutene-2-methylbutadiene copolymer (IIR) and also blends with the halogenized polymers BIIR and CIIR or with isobutene homopolymer (IM) and also in the presence of carbon black, oil and inorganic fillers.
