The method specified is used to determine the viscosity number and/or the K value of VC polymers in a solution containing 0,5 g of VC polymer per 100 cm3 of solution, at 25degreeC Cyclohexanone is used as the solvent. The viscosity number and K value are parameters for characterizing the degree of polymerization of a VC polymer.
