The procedure described is used to determine the viscosity number of PETP or PBTP in dilute solution. A mixture consisting of equal parts by mass of phenol and 1,2-dichlorobenzene is used as solvent. Additives, e.g. fillers, affect the results of the viscosity measurement and allowance shall be made for these when weighing the sample.
