Hardcopy , PDF
German, English
01-01-1978
This standard is included in DIN Handbook 118/2 and 213. Used for determining the Kappa number (K number) as a measure of the relative hardness, bleachability or degree of delignification of pulp. The method is applicable to all chemical, semi-chemical, unbleached and semi-bleached pulps obtained in yields up to 60% by weight, and up to 70% by weight in the case of well-screened pulps. The method does not give reliable values for semi-chemical pulps obtained in yields from 60 to 95% by weight corresponding to a lignin content > 15% by weight and a K number > 100.
