Aims to determine the amount of plasticizer, in this case di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DOP) absorbed at 75 degrees C by a general-purpose PVC, and the absorption rate during mixing. A knowledge of the plasticizer absorption and the hot absorption rate at 75 degrees C is important for assessing the suitability of a PVC polymer for dry blending operations in conjunction with plasticizers.
