This standard is included in DIN Handbook 185. This applies to lifting slings made of man-made multifilament fibres which are used as slinging means (see DIN 15002 and DIN 15003) for lifting purposes. It specifies the concepts associated with, and the dimensions, standard designations and customary modes of assembly for these slings. Safety requirements and the relevant test methods are dealt with in DIN 61360 Part 2.
