This Standard is included in DIN Handbook 171. This applies to glass roving ('roving', for short) which conforms with the technical delivery conditions specified in DIN 61855 Part 1 and which is used for the reinforcement of plastics. The requirements to be met by the different types of roving and their properties as laminates are specified in clause 3. The requirements specified for particular laminate properties are based on results obtained from tests on specimens prepared under standard manufacturing conditions using standard casting resins.
