Aufgrund der Veröffentlichung von DIN EN ISO 4921:2002 "Stricken und Wirken - Grundbegriffe - Fachwörterverzeichnis (ISO 4921:2000); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO 4921:2001" war eine Veröffentlichung von den nicht abgedeckten Teilen von DIN 62050-1 und DIN 62050-2 in einer Norm erforderlich.
