Diese Norm gilt für Kleinuhren. Kleinuhren sind Uhren, die im allgemeinen zum Tragen am Körper bestimmt sind, siehe DIN 8235 Teil 1. Die Mehrzahl der heute auf dem Markt befindlichen Kleinuhren sind mit Quarzwerken ausgerüstet. Daneben sind nach wie vor mechanische Kleinuhren im Gebrauch.
