Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen und die diesbezüglichen Prüfverfahren fest, die auf Großbereichskupplungen, gestufte/reduzierte Großbereichskupplungen und -flanschadapter aus duktilem Gusseisen und Stahl anwendbar sind, die zur Verwendung mit Rohrleitungsbauteilen aus einer Reihe von Werkstoffen (duktiles Gusseisen, Grauguss, PE in Übereinstimmung mit EN 12201-1 bis EN 12201-5, PVC-U in Übereinstimmung mit EN ISO 1452-1 bis EN ISO 1452-5, Stahl, Faserzement) vorgesehen sind, um für einen großen Bereich von Rohr-Außendurchmessern eine leckagefreie Abdichtung zu erreichen: — zum Transport von Wasser (z. B. Wasser für den menschlichen Gebrauch); — mit oder ohne Druck; — oberirdisch oder erdverlegt, innerhalb oder außerhalb von Gebäuden.
