Defines requirements for use in assessing the resistance of gaiters to cutting by hand-held chain saws and other properties. Also includes a requirement for strength of underfoot straps of gaiters.Applies to gaiters used with safety footwear as in EN 345:1992 and EN 345:1992/A1 having a metallic toecap, as gaiters offer only partial protection against chain saw cutting.
