    Specifies the main dimensions of lead-acid starter batteries of three standard series. Also specifies: the dimensions of tapered terminals of starter batteries; the marking of the polarity; the location of the positive and negative terminals with respect to the fastening system. Applies to lead-acid batteries with a 12 V nominal voltage, used primarily as a power source for the starting and ignition of internal combustion engines, lighting and also for auxiliary equipment of internal combustion engine vehicles.
