Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Gives the high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) conducted environment that is a consequence of high-altitude nuclear explosion. This subject considers two cases: high-altitude nuclear explosions and low-altitude nuclear explosions. The most important case for civil systems is the high-altitude nuclear explosion, as the other effects of nuclear explosion i.e blast, ground shock, thermal and nuclear ionizing radiation are not present at ground level. Electromagnetic pulses associated with the explosion may cause disruption of, and damage to, communication, electronic and electric power systems, thus, upsetting the stability of modern society.
