Diese Internationale Norm gilt für Fehlerstrom-Schutzschalter mit eingebautem Überstromschutz, deren Funktion unabhängig von der Netzspannung oder deren Funktion von der Netzspannung abhängig ist, (im Folgenden als RCBO bezeichnet) zum Einsatz in Hausinstallationen und für ähnliche Anwendungen, mit Bemessungsspannungen nicht über 440 V Wechselspannung, mit Bemessungsfrequenzen von 50 Hz, 60 Hz oder 50/60 Hz und Bemessungsströmen nicht über 125 A für feste Installation und Bemessungsschaltvermögen nicht über 25000 A.
