Prescribes the general performance requirements for pushbutton switches. Selects the appropriate quality assessment procedures and test methods form IEC 1020-1; prescribes ratings and characteristics. Applies to the sub-family of pushbutton switches within the family of electromechanical switches of assessed quality. Covers rated currents less than 5 A (d.c. r.m.s. values) and rated voltages less than 3000 V. Includes single station and multi-station pushbutton switches as well as pushbutton switches in which sensitive switches are incorporated for the direct control of the load current. This publication also bears the number QC 960400, which is the specification number in the IEC Quality Assessment System for Electronic Components (IECQ).
