Die vorliegende Norm legt die für elektronische Baugruppenprodukte geltenden Bewertungskriterien für Hohlräume und das Hohlraum-Messverfahren mittels Röntgenuntersuchung, da die Hohlräume in Lötverbindungen von BGA-Gehäusen und LGA-Gehäusen beim Oberflächenmontieren auf eine Leiterplatte erzeugt werden, fest. Die Norm gilt nicht für das BGA-Gehäuse selbst, bevor es auf eine Leiterplatte montiert wurde.
