Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Schema zur Kennzeichnung von Komponenten (ausser Rohren, Schläuchen und Armaturen) fest, die in Hydraulikanlagen von Luftfahrzeugen verwendet werden, damit die richtige Art der zu verwendenden Flüssigkeit bei allen Einbau- und Prüfungsarbeiten in Werkstätten leicht zu erkennen ist. Nach Einbau der Komponente in ein Luftfahrzeug dient die Kennzeichnung keinem weiteren Zweck mehr.
