    Diese Norm gilt für oberflächengekühlte Käfigläufer-Asynchronmotoren mit standardisierten Anbauabmessungen und Leistungen nach DIN EN 50347 "Drehstromasynchronmotoren für den Allgemeingebrauch mit standardisierten Abmessungen und Leistungen - Baugrössen 56 bis 315 und Flanschgrössen 65 bis 740" (siehe auch IEC 60072 1), mit besonderen elektrischen und mechanischen Auslegungen nach DIN EN 60079 0 (VDE 0170 1) "Elektrische Betriebsmittel für gasexplosionsgefährdete Bereiche - Teil 0: Allgemeine Anforderungen" für gasexplosionsgefährdete Bereiche sowie der überschreibenden DIN EN 60079 1 (VDE 0170 5) "Explosionsfähige Atmosphäre - Teil 1: Geräteschutz durch druckfeste Kapselung "d" für Bauart und Prüfung elektrischer Betriebsmittel in der Zündschutzart druckfeste Kapselung "d"" Gruppe II für die Temperaturklassen T 1 bis T 4.
