Diese Vornorm gilt für Einrichtungen der Informationstechnik entsprechend den Begriffsbestimmungen in DIN VDE 0878 Teil 3/11.89, Abschnitt 2.1. Diese Vornorm legt die Störfestigungsanforderungen von Einrichtungen der Informationsverarbeitungstechnik fest. Die Anforderungen der elektromagnetischen Störaussendung sind in DIN VDE 0878 Teil 3 festgelegt. Es finden nur die Anforderungen der DIN EN 50 082 Teil 1/VDE 0839 Teil 82-1/03.93 Anwendung, die in dem Normungsantrag für Einrichtungen der Informationstechnik (IVTE) der EG-Kommission an CENELEC vorgesehen sind.
