Magnetische und kapazitive Koppler bestehen aus einer Sendeeinrichtung und Empfangseinrichtung auf beiden Seiten einer galvanischen Isolationsbarriere. Die Sendeeinrichtung übermittelt ein Signal durch die Isolationsbarriere, die Empfangseinrichtung ermittelt dieses Signal und erzeugt das elektrische Signal am Ausgang.
