Proposes two systems of classification of types of construction and mounting arrangements of rotating electrical machines: a Code I alphanumeric designation, e.g. IM B3; and a Code II all-numeric designation, e.g. IM 1001. (Each Code I has a corresponding Code II.) It proposes the adoption without change of the second edition of IEC 34-7 which is currently available only as an IEC/DIS, document 2H(Central Office)29, July 1991. Copies of document 2H(Central Office)29 may be viewed at or ordered from any Standards Australia office.
