Proposes the adoption of IEC 764-2:1991 which specifies a method for the determination of the degree of acidity of gases evolved during the combustion of compounds taken from cable components. The recommended test values have been deleted, since they are dealt with in the relevant Australian cable Standards. Copies of IEC 754-2 may be purchased from or viewed at any Standards Australia office. The proposed Standard will supersede the SAA Interim Standard Int 88003-1988, which has expired.
