Proposes a reference configuration (RC) defining reference points by means of identifying functional groupings which interwork at the reference points of the exchange of a private ISDN (PISN). It supplements the user-to-ISDN RC specified in CCITT Rec.1.411[1] (which allows the exchanges of a private ISDN to interwork with a public ISDN in a concatenation scenario) by specifying an RC with regard to the functions which apply to the control of connections and calls between any two exchanges of a given private ISDN. It is one of a series of emerging Standards applicable to PISNs. The series uses the ISDN concepts as developed by CCITT and is also within the framework of Standards for open systems interconnection (OSI) as defined by ISO. This draft is identical with and reproduced from ISO/IEC CD 11579-1992.
