Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

Proposes the adoption of IEC1008-1:1990, including IEC 1008-1 Amendment 1:1992 and IEC 1008-1 Corrigendum 1:1990, IEC 1008-2-1:1990 and IEC 1008-2-2:1990 as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard, with the addition of an Appendix A, which apply to residual current-operated circuit-breakers functionally independent of, or functionally dependent on, line voltage for household and similar use. They are intended principally for protection against shock-hazard for rated voltages not exceeding 440 V a.c. and rated currents not exceeding 125 A. Appendix A proposes variations for Australian/New Zealand conditions. Copies of IEC 1008-1:1990, including IEC 1008-1 Amendment 1:1992 and IEC 1008-1 Corrigendum 1:1990, IEC 1008-2-1:1990 and IEC 1008-2-2:1990 may be purchased from or viewed at any Standards Australia office.
