Proposes to provide a central reference to all the Standards, including this proposed Joint Standard, that are collectively termed the 'Pressure Equipment Standards'. Details specific Australian and New Zealand requirements, equipment covered, materials, relationships, with overseas Standards; and provides a basis of design strength and procedures for enquiries, interpretations and rulings.
