Proposes procedures for sampling and testing masonry units and segmental pavers. The tests are appropriate to products manufactured from fired clay, concrete, calcium silicate, dimensioned stone and autoclaved aerated concrete. The tests are for determining dimensions, material thickness and perforation volume, coefficient of contraction, coefficients of expansion, moisture content, dry and ambient density, compressive strength, breaking load, lateral modulus of rupture, abrasion resistance, resistance to salt attack, pitting due to lime particles, potential to effloresce, water absorption and porosity, permeability to water, initial rate of absorption, tensile strength, mean and standard deviation and characteristic value. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
