Proposes requirements for determining the performance of sun protective textiles, garments and other items of personal apparel in terms of their rated Ultraviolet Protection Factor. It also suggests appropriate detailed labelling requirements and, in particular, comment on these is sought. It does not cover sunscreen products for topical application to the human skin, fabrics for architectural or horticultural use, such as shadecloth or sunglasses; nor does it cover protection from ultraviolet radiation sources other than the sun. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
