Proposes the procedures for the sample collection and the detection and quantitation of drugs of abuse in human urine. The method may be used for workplace, medicolegal or court-directed detection of the following classes of drugs: opiates, sympathomimetic amines, cannabis metabolites, cocaine metabolites and benzodiazepines. This draft Standard is not applicable to urine samples following overdosage with therapeutic drugs, vitamins, following exogenous hormone intake or following ingestion of performance-enhancing drugs which may be used by sports participants.
