Proposes the requirements for wall ties used in cavity masonry walls and masonry veneer walls. Gives categories of wall ties and classifies wall ties by characteristic strength, durability and where applicable, characteristic stiffness and ductility. Applies to wall ties used in both new construction and remedial work. Includes test methods for resistance to water transfer, determination of characteristic strength and stiffness and corrosion resistance. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
