Proposes the requirements for vehicle alarm equipment and the conditions under which it shall operate, including appropriate testing procedures. It is based on the draft of the International Standard for passenger car alarm systems produced jointly as ISO/DIS 12016 and IEC 79/137/DIS, but incorporates those requirements specific to Australian legislation and climate. Copies of IEC 79/137/DIS can be viewed at or purchased from any Standards Australia Office.
