Proposes performance requirements and test methods for marine search and rescue radar transponders (SART) to ensure compliance with requirements for the 1974 international convention for Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) and Australia and New Zealand spectrum planning. It is identical with and has been reproduced from IEC 1097-1:1992 and is proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
